Väderstad Spirit 400C/S Seed Drill
Spirit 400 is a 4-metre-wide pneumatic seed drill, available either as the seed-only version Spirit 400S or as the combi version Spirit 400C. The heavy-duty frame guarantees a long working life, while the high precision metering and large seed hopper provide an impressive result with less downtime on the field.
To ensure an even seed depth also in hilly terrain and at varying soil types, Spirit 400C/S is equipped with an active seed coulter pressure. The result is an impressive seed placement and an even emergence over the entire field.
Features & Benefits
To minimise downtime in the field, Spirits hopper capacity is 3740 litres for the seed-only version and 3900 litres for the combi version. The hopper is very easy to fill due to its large opening with a roll-up cover operated from the ground. With an open machine design, you benefit from good access to all components throughout the machine.
- The distributor heads are placed in a high position. This keeps the seed hoses at the perfect angle even in hilly terrain, this ensures a perfect distribution over the entire working width. When lifting or lowering the seed drill at the headland, the automatic sequence control lifts or lowers the working zones one by one. When entering the field, the system makes sure the front tool is lowered into the soil before the seed coulters and the following harrow. By optimising this automatic lifting and lowering sequence, the seeding accuracy is enhanced at the headlands.
- The dynamic tramlining function makes tramlining simpler and more reliable than ever before. The function is easy to setup with the iPad-based control system Väderstad E-Control. When seeding the field, the seed drill automatically shuts off specific rows when needed to match the tyre tracks of the sprayer.
- ’FIX’ versions place the fertiliser in 5cm wide strips as 12.5cm row spacing in front of every seed row whereas the ‘InLine’ versions place the fertiliser and seed together in each double disc seed coulter.
